New Discovery - Perth

Those Animal Collective chaps really have spread their influence far and wide.

Australian band Perth (who are actually from Perth) are one such band who’ve fallen under their spell, and last month they released their rather excellent debut album, Babes, Water, Waves.

Babes, Water, Waves is a fascinating mish-mash of Boards Of Canada-esque electronica, synthesised campfire psychedelia, wonky shoegaze and experimental gurgling, that seems to strike just the right balance of oddness and ethereal melody.
