Danny Brown and J Dilla

Just over six years ago the world lost one of the greatest hip-hop producers of all time. J Dilla (aka Jay Dee) produced tracks for a mighty role-call of hip-hop talent during his 14 year career, including A Tribe Called Quest, Pharcyde, De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, Slum Village, Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli and Common amongst others.

On June 12, Yancey Media Group and Ruff Draft are due to release Rebirth of Detroit, an album featuring Detroit artists rapping over unreleased J Dilla productions. One of the stand out tracks features Slacker Shack favourite Danny Brown – and it’s called Jay-Dee’s Revenge. Check out the newly released video below:
