A Most Wanted Man – trailer

Posted in Film, Movies with tags , , , , , , , on April 14, 2014 by dc

Just over two months ago one of the best film actors of his generation, Philip Seymour Hoffman died. During his life Seymour Hoffman was ever prolific, starring in well over fifty movies and winning dozens of awards along the way and this June a new Seymour Hoffman film sees the light of day.

A Most Wanted Man is a thriller based on a novel by famous British writer, John le Carré and is directed by Anton Corbijn. In the film Seymour Hoffman plays Gunter Bachmann, a German spy who runs a counter-intelligence unit intent on infiltrating the Jihadist network involved in 9/11, and the film also stars Rachel McAdams, Robin Wright andWillem Defoe.

I really enjoyed Anton Corbijn‘s last feature (the George Clooney starring), The American, and by the looks of the trailer below (and the early reviews) this looks like being another good ‘un:

A Most Wanted Man gets a limited release in US cinemas on the 25th July – as yet there’s no scheduled UK release date.

Gruff Rhys’s latest project, American Interior has seen him creating an album, film, book and app that tells the tale of John Evans, an 18th century farm hand who travelled from Wales to America in search of a tribe of Welsh-speaking native Americans.

The video for the album’s title track is directed by Dylan Goch and is described by Gruff as, “a distillation of what happened when Goch followed me on an investigative concert tour of the USA in 2012 in search of the remains of explorer John Evans (1770-1799)” – check it out below:

And here’s the trailer for the film:

Gruff Rhys’s American Interior is out on the 5th May.

A Million Ways To Die In The West – film trailer

Posted in Film, Movies with tags , , , , , , , on February 25, 2014 by dc

This May, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane finally comes out from behind the cartoons (and teddy bear in the case of Ted) to star (and direct) in his self-penned comedy western, A Million Ways To Die In The West. Whether he’ll pull it off is hard to tell from the following trailer, but as you’d imagine there’s a fair few decent gags to make it’s release at the very least a fairly intriguing prospect:

A Million Ways To Die In The West is released in US and UK cinemas on the 30th May.

Zombeavers – trailer

zombeavers poster

If you like American teen comedies, titillating smut, beavers (fnaar) and zombie movies, this next film trailer’s for you:

Due for release later this year, Zombeavers comes with a delightfully ridiculous tagline too – ‘You’ll all be dammed’. So, is it going to be the next Sharknado, or is it actually going to be entertaining? If nothing else, the trailer’s an amusing 2 minutes of silliness.

The Zero Theorem – new trailer

Posted in Film, Movies with tags , , , , , , , on February 4, 2014 by dc

It’s been near enough five years since Terry Gilliam‘s last film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, but this March sees the release of his latest film, The Zero Theorem.

His new film sounds intriguing too – here’s the synopsis – “A computer hacker’s goal to discover the reason for human existence continually finds his work interrupted thanks to the Management; this time, they send a teenager and lusty love interest to distract him.”

The Zero Theorem spent the last third of 2013 hitting the film festival circuit and whilst early reviews haven’t been great, it looks visually stunning if nothing else. Check out the trailer below:

The Zero Theorem is released in the UK and Ireland on the 14th March.

If you’re excited about the forthcoming Spider-Man movie sequel this’ll whet your appetite even more. At almost four minutes in length the new ‘Enemies Unite‘ trailer is probably the longest film trailer I’ve ever seen – check it out below:
