Animal Collective – tour dates 2012

Animal Collective have announced a two month world tour which starts in Seattle on the 18th September and finishes in Zurich on 20th November.

The band have stated that they will be doing a pre-sale starting tomorrow and that all UK and European dates will be on sale at 9am BST. North American Dates will also be on sale at 10am EST.

They also sent a message to fans who aren’t living in the cities featured on the tour, which reads, “don’t worry, it’s only the beginning.”

Shane Meadows set to film Stone Roses documentary

Last Friday tickets for The Stone Roses three Heaton Park gigs sold out in just over an hour and generated sales of around £12 million. Not a bad start when all’s said and done.

There are now rumours of a Liverpool gig on 5th July 2012, a gig in Ireland, a slot at V Festival and a world tour too.

The biggest Roses news of the week so far though, is the revelation that Shane Meadows is set to direct a film documenting their return.

One of Britains most loved directors’, Meadows plans to film Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani and Reni as they rehearse for the three sold-out shows. It’s not yet known if Meadows, who was seen filming at last week’s Roses reunion press conference, will include footage from the gigs in his film.

The film company behind the planned documentary is Warp Films but the band have yet to give it the go ahead. They have said they will confirm whether or not they will be involved sometime in the next five weeks.
