Tayto release a chocolate bar with crisps in it

Irish snack manufacturer, Tayto is known in Northern Ireland for their range of crisps (‘chips’ if you’re a US, Aussie or Canadian reader). They’ve been manufacturing their tasty potato snacks for over 50 years, but until recently they’d never dabbled in chocolate.

Images of the above wrapper, displaying a bizarre chocolate and crisps hybrid snack, first began circulating on social media platforms a few months ago after the bar went on limited sale in Tayto Park, Ashbourne.

The milk chocolate bar is infused with morsels of the company’s famous cheese and onion crisps – a world first (probably).

Who knows which leftfield genius came up with the idea  (maybe their CEO was nibbling on a choccy pretzel and had a lo-fi eureka moment). What is known is that photos of the snack sent thousands of tweeters and facebookers wild and one viral campaign later the snack is set for a much bigger (albeit still ‘limited edition’) release with 10,000 of the new bars being distributed across Northern Irelend as we speak.

Due to strong demand they are expected to be sold out within a month.

    • I don’t think so but I’m not sure. Think the 10,000 batch starts going on sale on the 15th of this month
