Bedtime Stories

Two of my favourite comedic oddballs, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim have a new show called, Tim and Eric’s Bedtime Stories currently screening in the US. The new series is billed as a ‘horror anthology‘ and sees the duo returning to a weekly television slot in the US, following on from their previous show Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! (which finished back in 2010). Check out the trailer below:

It’s always been a chore trying to get hold of episodes of their old show over in the UK though. ‘Awesome Show, Great Job‘ is only available on fairly pricey box sets and I only ended up seeing a handful of series when TCM randomly started showing it late at night last year for a bit. So, God only knows when (or if) Bedtime Stories will see the light of day over here in Blighty.

The pair are currently promoting the show Stateside with a 25 date live tour (they’re playing Royal Oak in Michigan tonight). Here’s hoping they do a tour over here at some point.

David Cronenberg‘s latest film, Maps To The Stars is out in UK cinemas now. It’s kind of flown under the radar somewhat and reviews seem to have been mixed. Julianne Moore is usually a sign of quality though and I always enjoy a delve into Cronenberg‘s peculiar mind. Check out the trailer below:

Low Down follows the life of pianist Joe Albany from the perspective of his young daughter, as she watches him contend with his drug addiction during the 60s and ’70s jazz scene. It should be getting a release very soon after decent reviews earlier in the year on the film festival circuit. As yet though, there’s no official release date. Check out the trailer below:
