Super Furry Animals to re-release Mwng and reform for short UK tour

The Super Furries have been teasing news this week. Short videos of them inflating their huge ‘Radiator‘ bear in the woods have been followed by lots of guessing as to what they’re up and whether or not a new tour and/or album was imminent.

Well, earlier today the band have finally released their plans and whilst the lack of a new album is a little disappointing the news that they’re reforming for a short UK tour and re-releasing an expanded version of their often overlooked Mwng album is a joy nonetheless.

It’s the 15th anniversary of Mwng and it’ll be getting re-released as a two disc album via Domino on the 1st May. Their first tour since 2009 takes in the following cities and dates (tickets go on sale on 5th March):

1st May – Cardiff University Great Hall
2nd May – Cardiff University Great Hall
5th May – Glasgow O2 Academy
6th May – Manchester Albert Hall
8th May – London O2 Academy Brixton
