Jay-Z releases ‘Open Letter’ addressing his recent trip to Cuba

As many of you already know, Jay-Z and Beyonce caused a a mild furore in the US recently by visiting Cuba to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary.

It’s claimed by the couple that their trip to Havana was fully licensed and authorised by the US Treasury department – and to follow that up and set things straight, Jay-Z has today uploaded a track called, Open Letter where he addresses the media storm and clears things up (in fine style).

For those wishing to find out more about the US’s embargo against Cuba (it’s history and finer points are at best ‘mildly confusing’ – for instance, “the regulation does not limit travel of U.S. citizens to Cuba per se, but it makes it illegal for U.S. citizens to have transactions (spend money or receive gifts) in Cuba.
