New York indie-pop five piece, Caveman released their debut eponymous album last month – and now the stand out tune from that album (and one of my favourite tunes of the last few months), In The City has gone and got itself a video (starring actress Julia Stiles no less). Check it out below:

The art of Wangechi Mutu

Wangechi Mutu is an artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Her work often contains plant-like and/or human-like elements mixed with abstract patterns and decorations. I love it for it’s wild and vivid surrealism – and her work extends from collage and paintings through to sculptural installations.

Her work, whilst new to me, has appeared in a number of the biggest galleries in the world, from the Tate Modern in London to the Deutsche Guggenheim in Berlin and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Check out three of my favourite Mutu pieces below:

Intertwined (2003)

Homeward Bound (2009)

Untitled mixed media collage (2003)

Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle perform together in New York – and rumours of a tour resurface

Posted in Comedy with tags , , , , , , , , on March 1, 2013 by dc

Back in October 2011, we posted a blog concerning rumours that Chris Rock and Dave Chapelle were planning a tour together. Rock was quoted as saying, “it could happen” and lots of people got very excited.

Well, sixteen months later, there’s some fresh rumours a-circling.

Two nights ago in a New York club called the Comedy Cellar (the one featured in Louie CK‘s sitcom, Louie, fact fans), Dave Chappelle was joined 45 minutes into a one-man show by Rock. The two performed together for around an hour, improvising and riffing off each other.

And that’s not all – according to comedy website, The Comic’s Comic, Rock said to Chappelle whilst on stage, “I’ve got time between now and the (unnamed) movie. By Halloween, I could do dates.”

Sketchy for now I know. But watch this space. I think this time the rumours may just result in something.
