An oral history of Saul Goodman

I (like many others) am currently four episodes into Season Five of Better Call Saul. The show is now firmly on the peripheries of the old Breaking Bad plotlines and it’s a beautiful thing to watch as Vince Gilligan weaves his stories in and out of each other like an absolute master at work.

Bob Odenkirk‘s Saul Goodman, first seen in Breaking Bad, is one of the finest TV characters to have been created in the modern era and the excellent folk over at Rotten Tomatoes TV have put together a 12 minute mini-documentary piecing together an oral history of Saul from Bob himself. If you’re a fan of either or both shows it’s a lovely way to spend a dozen minutes of your time – check it out below:

Street artist Akse’s ‘Breaking Bad’ portraits

French street artist Akse, who’s been based in Manchester since 1997, is the one guy whose work I truly keep up with in the world of UK street art. It helps that a lot of his works regularly pop up near where I work in Manchester – but it’s not just convenient, his portraits are also absolutely brilliant.

Celebrities like Jack Nicholson, Christopher Walken and Anthony Hopkins have all been given the portrait treatment in and around the streets of Manchester, and now Akse has recently completed three Breaking Bad portraits, perfectly timed to fit in with the conclusion of the long running, critically acclaimed drama.

Brilliant ‘Breaking Bad’ collage

The latter half of 2012 has seen me become a big fan of TV show Breaking Bad. I came late to its brilliance but I’m now just a handful of episodes away from being up to date and the end of season four blew my mind (in fact the last episode is definitely up there as one of my favourite episodes of any drama ever).

Anyway, tonight I’ve been trawling through lots of excellent Breaking Bad fan art on Pinterest. This led me to the brilliant Breaking Bad Tumblr page which is filled with lots of great stuff.

One of my favourite finds is this excellent collage by 21 year old Ad Student and aspiring art director, Emmanuel Torres:

Breaking Bad – Walt plushies

I came late to Breaking Bad. But the last two months have seen me catch up and get fully immersed in what has to be one of the greatest TV series ever made.

There’s very little Breaking Bad merchandise around, except for the odd t-shirt, hoody and obligatory key-ring. There are however, quite a few bits and bobs of fan-made merchandise doing the rounds. I’ve posted a photo of some amusing BB cupcakes, and many of you have probably also seen the occasional ‘meth’ doughnut too – but here’s a photo of three rather adorable Walt White plushies (or stuffed toys if you will) that 27 year old Canadian ‘fiber artist’ Michelle Coffee has designed:
